As a small operation focused on your needs, there are various ways
we can help you to soar like an eagle. Our core services comprise
HG Instruction and Tandem flights. Both offer hill and tow launch
options to best suit your particular needs.
When you interact with us, you will be under the care of myself
-Kevin Rooke. As Principal Director and Pilot my expertise is at
your disposal. My association with HG stretches back to its earliest
NZ beginnings. In 1972 I obtained plans to build the country's first
hang glider. This comprised a polythene sail attached to the airframe
by adhesive tape -no longer an option given the altitudes we now
fly you to!
I have instructed Hang Gliding since 1981 and gained commercial
tandem and solo cross country experience around the world. My passengers
range in ages from my youngest daughter (then aged six) through
to eighty years old. With tow flights I've had the pleasure of introducing
one paraplegic and one blind client (and many afraid to fly) to
the wonder of pure flight.
Using a combination of tandem and solo instruction, aspirant pilots
have gained their wings, when the normal hill training sessions
were not feasible due to age, strength, health or time constraints.
